Empowering youth, enriching culture

At Nnanda Arts Initiative (NAI), we believe in the transformative power of arts and culture. Founded in Uganda in 2019, our mission is to empower young people and their communities through dynamic arts education, dedicated cultural preservation, and practical creative skills development. We're committed to creating inclusive platforms that nurture artistic talent, safeguard indigenous heritage, and build sustainable livelihood opportunities within the creative and cultural industries. Through our strong partnership with the Uganda Association of Quebec (UAQ), we extend our reach, foster cultural exchange, and strengthen our collective impact across continents. Join us as we celebrate creativity and build a brighter future, together.

Our roots: nurturing talent in Uganda

Our journey began in Uganda, where NAI serves as the foundational hub for community-based arts education. We lead initiatives focused on cultural documentation, talent development, and youth empowerment at the grassroots level. Through music, dance, and drama, we provide young people with invaluable skills, a sense of identity, and pathways to creative expression, ensuring that traditional arts continue to thrive and evolve for future generations.

Global reach: a partnership with impact

The collaboration with the Uganda Association of Quebec (UAQ) significantly enhances NAI’s ability to promote Ugandan arts and culture on an international stage. This vital partnership supports diaspora engagement, builds strategic collaborations with development partners, educational institutions, and cultural stakeholders. Together, we amplify our efforts, sharing resources, knowledge, and opportunities that benefit both local communities in Uganda and the diaspora in Quebec and beyond.

Inspiring change through creativity

Working hand-in-hand, Nnanda Arts Initiative and the Uganda Association of Quebec are dedicated to advancing key global priorities. We actively champion cultural preservation, youth empowerment, gender equality, the inclusion of persons with disabilities, and social cohesion. By harnessing the power of the creative and cultural sectors, we contribute meaningfully to national and global development goals, fostering a more inclusive and vibrant world for all.

“Nnanda Arts Initiative has created a vibrant space where young talent thrives and culture flourishes. Their dedication is truly inspiring.”
